Farms
Sugar House Creamery (Upper Jay, New York): Set on a 23-acre family-owned farmstead, Sugar House Creamery is known for its locally made cheese and scenic views of Ebenezer Mountain. Visitors can shop the year-round farm store, attend the winter Snowy Grocery farmers’ market and Green Grass Get Down festival, or stay overnight at The Farmhouse or The Carriage Barn.
Blue Pepper Farm (Jay, New York): Sheep’s milk yogurt, wool products, eggs, and pork are among the offerings at this small dairy farm nestled along the Jay Range. Visitors can experience farm life with a seasonal stay at The Farmhouse, The Yurt, or The Shepherd's Crook, or take a tour to meet the animals and learn about the property’s history.
The Meadow Farmstead (Au Sable Forks, New York): Growing vegetables for the local community, this woman-owned farm offers three CSA options with weekly shares of fresh, locally grown produce.
Asgaard Farm & Dairy (Au Sable Forks, New York): Family-owned and operated, Asgaard Farm & Dairy produces grass-fed and grass-finished beef alongside its signature award-winning farmstead goat cheeses for local restaurants and farm stores. The historic Emerson House, designed and built by celebrated artist Rockwell Kent for his son, is also on the property. Named after the farm’s longtime managers, the house is part of the historic 1,500-acre property.

Summer in the Adirondacks is a flavorful delight as farmers’ markets and roadside stands pop up throughout the region, offering an abundance of fresh produce, locally made cheese and other dairy products, ice cream, baked goods, and so much more! Local markets don't just carry items to be cooked; you can often find grab-and-go treats perfect for an afternoon hike or scenic drive. Many local farms sell their produce at markets in nearby Lake Placid, Keene, and Saranac Lake. During the colder months, Sugar House Creamery's Snowy Grocery in Upper Jay offers a variety of products, including artisanal cheeses, breads, meats, and more from farms and makers throughout the Adirondacks.
